About me
Macky Manzur is based in Lima, Peru (b.1971). After graduated from Law and Political Sciences at the University of Lima and work in corporative world, she moved to Santiago de Chile, reconnecting with her artistic feelings and regained her affinity for drawing and painting.
She attended several workshops both in Chile and Peru directed by renowned artists. She also continue her studies at the prestigious School of Art Corriente Alterna. The artist participated in several collective exhibitions in her country as well as in International Art Fairs. Finalist at Boynes Emerging Artist Award 2023, Australia. Her paintings are part of private collections in Latin American and USA.
The artist has the female figure as main theme of her work, trying to find the match between the figurative and abstract. For this, she uses mixed techniques: acrylic, oil and charcoal. The merge of this images intend to capture the beauty of the character in an attempt to envelop the viewer in a diversity of emotions seeking the perfection of the moment in every day situations.
Her inspiration comes from the women around her, trying to convey both her strengths and weakness in an intend to humanize her art.
